description
Professor Bhaskar Sen Gupta of Heriot-Watt University and his team of researchers have joined hands with Mr Dipal Barua of Bright Green Energy Foundation of Bangladesh to set up the first Subterranean Arsenic Removal plant for safe water supply to a school and surrounding areas in Metangor in the Comilla District (Bangladesh). This system supplies 6000 litres of water to the community without producing any waste or use of any chemicals. The plant runs entirely on solar power. This is the cleanest process for arsenic removal from groundwater in the world.
