Rodrigo MedellĂ­n works on ecology and conservation of bats, jaguars, and other mammals. As a Senior Professor at UNAM, he has produced over 170 publications in over 10 countries. His work is used to improve policy and decision-making in conservation. He is President of the Society for Conservation Biology (2013-15 and represents North America in CITES. He is advisor to the Mexican Government on wildlife issues. Rodrigo is Co-Chair of the IUCN Bat Specialist Group. He has been Associate Editor of several conservation journals. He has received the Rolex, the 2012 Whitley Gold Award, and others.
